Flying Dogs ReturnTo Bay Creek
Can dogs really fly? Maybe not, but it sure seemed like it on the weekend of July 15-17, when Bay Creek hosted the second annual Bark in the Park, featuring the Dock Diving Dogs competition, quite possibly the greatest celebration of canine athleticism ever staged in the Tidewater region. Some of the world’s most acrobatic canines returned Bay Creek for this year’s competition, with a full line-up of gravity-defying events, including Big Air, Speed Retrieval, Extreme Vertical and Iron Dog. This year’s was a howling success, attracting more than 60 canine competitors from across the Southeast. As a special treat, Brown Dog Ice Cream of Cape Charles provided it special homemade ice cream to all competitors, owners and guests. Voluntary contributions were delivered to The US War Dog Association. The United States War Dogs Association, Inc. is a nonprofit organization of Former and Current US Military Dog Handlers and supporting members committed to promoting the long history of the Military Service Dogs, establishing permanent War Dog Memorials, and educating the public about the invaluable service of these canines to our country. |
